ToonieBet is continuing to expand its reach across Ontario and Canada, with a major move earlier this week that will present the opportunity to reach plenty of eyes at a pivotal time.

With the Stanley Cup Playoffs right around the corner as the largest sporting event North of the Border, ToonieBet has teamed up with another up-and-coming club in the world of Ontario Sports, securing a partnership with the Ottawa Senators that was announced Thursday.

The move, which marks a major milestone for the Soft2Bet-owned property, will make ToonieBet the Official Online Casino Partner of the Ottawa Senators, who will begin their quest for the franchise's first-ever Stanley Cup later this month.

Despite ToonieBet's relative newness to the Ontario marketplace, launching just under 16 months ago, the brand is already among the most prominent in Canada gambling scene, and is among the top 20 apps in Canada in the category of Games Casino, while boasting a 45% rise in retained players since their beginnings last year.

Must be 19+ to participate. T&Cs apply. Play Responsibly.

"We are thrilled to welcome ToonieBet as an official partner of the Ottawa Senators,” Senators VP of Corporate Partnership Martin Ballard said. “Cooperating with a brand that shares our commitment to providing fans with an exceptional and trusted experience is incredibly exciting.”

What This Means for ToonieBet

The partnership, likely to be fully implemented ahead of the April 19 start date for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, will provide a host of opportunities for the Canadian Online Casino brand, including major visibility during National Broadcasts. The full list of perks, according to the release, includes:

  • In-Arena & Broadcast Branding: Digitally enhanced dashboards for home and away games
  • In-rink board signage for home games
  • Virtual slot signage for various games
  • Digital inventory throughout the Ottawa Senators site on NHL.com
  • Direct Fan Engagement: Social contests and promotions hosted on Senators' digital platforms
  • Television Broadcast Branding: Digitally enhanced rink boards for home and away games
  • In-arena rink board signage for home games

The move positions ToonieBet to further expand in the weeks to follow as the Senators aim to spend much of their spring vying for hockey supremacy. The Ontario gaming market, comprised of 49 licensed operators, is estimated to have seen over $22 billion in wagers during Q3, marking a 32% increase YoY. Combined with over $825 million in total gaming revenue, the partnership will represent a huge growth opportunity for ToonieBet, something they seem to recognize.

“[This partnership] reinforces our strong brand presence in Ontario. In a short period, we have achieved impressive performance and retention results,” Soft2Bet CMO Oksana Tsyhankova revealed. “With a primary focus on localized, engaging experiences for Canadian players…ToonieBet truly set itself apart."
